About Patricia Hengen-Shields
Mezzo-soprano and Baltimore native, Patricia Hengen has performed in numerous venues in the Mid-Atlantic region. Earlier this year, she was seen in Annapolis Opera’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro, and she represented the North Carolina region in the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition. Recent roles include Aunt Dee/Drosselmeyer (The Nutcracker), Florinda (Into the Woods), Annina (La Traviata), Le Prince Charmant (Cendrillon), and Dreite Knabe (Die Zauberflote). Other productions include La Boheme, Carmen, Madama Butterfly, South Pacific, Hairspray: In Concert, and Tosca. She has appeared a soloist with Baltimore Choral Arts Society, the Baltimore Symphony, and the City Choir of Washington under the direction of Grammy award-winning conductor, Robert Shafer. Ms. Hengen is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory, and a member of the Voice Faculty at the Baltimore School for the Arts.
