About Kaiya Keckler
Kaiya Keckler is a vocalist, researcher, and educator based in the Central Maryland area. She received her B.M. with concentration in Vocal Performance and her B.S. with concentration in Cellular, Molecular, and Physiological Biology from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. She has training in both classical and contemporary styles of music, and has mainly performed within operatic, choral, and a cappella ensembles. She also has presented her research in music history, vocal pedagogy, and molecular biology with NURVa and CNU's PAIDEIA, and is a contributor of Open Music Theory v.2, an online music theory textbook. Kaiya enjoys working with all voice types and ages in many genres, with a focus on vocal balance and vocal health. When not in lessons, Kaiya works as a post-baccalaureate research fellow at the NIH in Baltimore, MD.
