Dear Students and Parents,
In our previous email, we mentioned the possibility of virtual lessons by video chat (Apple Facetime, Google Hangout, Skype, Zoom, or other). Last week, several of our students already had video-chat private lessons.
Of course, there are advantages to having in-person lessons, but lessons by video chat can still accomplish a lot. Regular lessons are essential to making progress and maintaining musical skills, and lessons by video chat can accomplish that purpose.
If you would like to have your next lesson by video chat, then please click the link below and complete the survey to help us set up your virtual lesson. For those with more than one family member in lessons at the same time, it is especially important to complete this survey as soon as possible to allow us time to make any necessary adjustments to the schedule.
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. And keep practicing!

Dear Students and Parents,
We continue to express our appreciation to you for entrusting us with your music education! During this difficult time, please remember that we are doing everything we can to keep our facilities sanitized, with extra effort to keep door knobs and piano keys free of germs.
As a reminder, Monday through Friday this week (March 16 – 20) is a makeup week. Only students who have pre-arranged makeups will be having lessons. Saturday, March 21 is not a makeup day, so all Saturday students are in the schedule for regular lessons. For those students attending lessons, please remember to wash your hands before you begin your lesson. We also still have hand sanitizer available in hallways and lesson rooms.
We have also mentioned the possibility of virtual lessons by video chat, which some students have already done. Please watch for an email and web updates with more information on how to sign up for lesson by video chat.
Finally, we will be shifting our spring break (currently scheduled for April 6 – 11) to the week of March 23 – 28. Please mark your calendars: no scheduled lessons from March 23 – 28, and regular lessons will occur from April 6 – 11.
We will be updating our website with that information shortly. If you usually pay your tuition at the cash register on the 25th of the month, we encourage you to make your payment online or by US Mail during this scheduled break. For online payments, just open your invoice and click on the line that reads “Click here to pay for this invoice” and you will be taken to a PayPal page where you can pay by PayPal or credit card online.

At this time, we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation and, although there have not been any confirmed cases in Baltimore County, we are doing everything we can to make sure that Artist Music’s academies are safe for lessons. We are regularly sanitizing door knobs and piano keys, and we ask that students help out by washing their hands thoroughly before starting their lessons. We are also working to make sure that hand sanitizer is available at all locations . . . please take advantage of it!
Some of you may have heard that certain music schools (including Juilliard and Peabody) are temporarily switching to virtual lessons. We don’t believe that there is a need for Artist Music to do that yet, but it is in our plan of action should the situation in Baltimore County warrant it. Virtual lessons are accomplished with Skype, Facetime, or other platforms. Our teachers can conduct a lesson from Artist Music Academy with a student who is at his/her instrument at home. We will share more specifics with you once that process is available and if it is needed.
Thanks again to each of you for being a part of the Artist Music family! We will update you again if any new information comes available.
All the best,
Irene & Jarl Hulbert
Directors
